This month, I have witnessed and experienced in clients and parties in mediation the whole spectrum of emotions. Divorce can be a painful process for the couple and this is demonstrated in sadness, grief and anxiety. Many of these translate into anger as the primary reaction. I have observed many men (and quite a few women) deal with the stress of divorce by lashing out at me as an attorney and also as a mediator. Most if not all of them are not aware that it does not have to be like this, that there is a better way.
Collaborative Divorce is a more effective, efficient and usually economical way for couples to end their marriage amicably. Attached is a great article that highlights real life divorces with unusual benefits that could not have occurred in the traditional divorce litigation. It provides amazing insight into how couples worked out the issues to divorce and how their life has been post-divorce. There is no place for the angry young man (or woman) in Collaborative Divorce.
This process works, this process is for you, this is Collaborative Divorce!
And as always in-joy the theme appropriate song and lyrics!
